Sarreguemines was a ceramic factory in northern France. It became famous thanks to Napoleon the 1st in the 18th century. In 1871, during the German occupation of northern France, Sarreguemines decided to create a new factory in Digoin, Burgundy, which was unoccupied. This is how Digoin-Sarreguemines was created. The company invested in innovations for new tech & designs, and quickly regained its reputation.Until the mid-20th century, it enjoyed great popularity.

Moulin des Loups was founded in northern France in the mid-19th century. It merged with "Orchies et Hamage" in 1923 to become "Moulin des Loups & Hamage". After the merger, the business began to grow rapidly, and the number of employees increased from 170 to more than 500 by the mid-20th century.
