Ridgway is one of the emblematic manufactures of Staffordshire in England. Ceramic production began in this region in the 17th century thanks to the local availability of materials such as clay, salt, lead and coal. Ridgway is a recognized manufacturer of transfer-printed porcelain and cobalt blue decors. It disappeared at the end of the 20th century after a succession of takeovers.
